Edith Shepherd
We are acknowledging an incredible woman in our community who has experienced decades of community involvement and leadership. Someone who not only generously served her community but did so while raising a beautiful, talented, hardworking family and working and pursuing her career.
She taught school in a one room country school before the age of 20. This resourceful woman attended a home nursing class so she could tend to all the things that ailed her children. She has served on numerous boards, Pine Ridge Church and Moorcroft Historical Society to name a few.
She worked for the newspaper, in fact purchasing the Moorcroft Leader in the 1970’s, serving as Editor.
Edith has always had a passion for hunting, fishing and gardening, and the kindness and willingness to share her bounty with others.
Northeast Wyoming has been her home for all of her life and she promotes the area every chance she gets. We would like to recognize Edith as our Lifetime Achievement Winner for 2019.
